日本語の「そのため」は「原因・理由」、「結果」、「目的」を表す事ができます。英語では、thereforeと言う単語があります。場合によって、thereforeの代わりにfor that reasonやconsequentlyと入れ替えることができます。
「目的」とは、何かが行われたり作られたり、あるいは何かが存在する「理由」です。一方、「理由」は、行動や出来事の「原因」、「説明」、「正当化」です。また、「結果」は「原因」に依存し，「原因」なしには「結果」は生じない。つまり、「そのため」と言う表現は「原因・理由」、「結果」、「目的」をつなげています。
英語でもほぼ一緒です。thereforeの様な表現は「理由」、「結果」と「目的」を説明することができますが、for that reasonは「理由」や「原因」を重視し、for that purposeは「目的」を重視します。consequentlyは「結果」を重視しますので、これらの表現を使い分ける事ができます。

英語で「そのため」に当たる単語はthereforeです。「原因・理由」、「結果」、「目的」どれにでも使えます。他の表現と言い換える事も大抵はできます。
ただし、for that reasonと言うと「理由」を重視し、for that purposeと言うと「目的」を重視します。consequentlyは「結果」を重視します。hence、ergo、thusはthereforeのもっと丁寧な言い方になりますので、ビジネスで是非使ってみてください!
